Denise Bellamy, 57, and Freddeie Mitchell, 71, opened Road Runners in the 90's in Idlewild, Mi., Tuesday, June 10, 2008. It is one of the few businesses operating in the town. Idlewild was a resort town for blacks in bad old days when hotels and restaurants denied them service. It had niteclubs with big-name acts like the 4 Tops, Louis Armstrong and George Kirby. When civil rights movement knocked down Jim Crow laws the town declined as blacks could travel more freely. The town is now going through a revival.
